Lionesses star opens up on heartbreaking miscarriage with footballer boyfriend weeks after announcing she is pregnant
England national team member Missy Bo Kearns has shared the devastating news of losing her baby, just days after revealing her pregnancy to the public.
With very heavy hearts, we want to share that we’ve lost our baby during pregnancy,’ she said.
The midfielder, who has been in a relationship with Liam Walsh since 2022, expressed her grief over the recent loss, which occurred in the early stages of their journey as a couple.
Earlier this month, Kearns joyfully confirmed her pregnancy, a milestone she celebrated by painting the word ‘Mum’ on a wall during a video. Walsh later joined the celebration by adding ‘Dad’ to the scene.
Initially, the couple anticipated their child’s arrival in September, with Kearns sharing ultrasound images to showcase the development. However, the emotional weight of the situation has shifted their focus from anticipation to mourning.
Following the announcement, Kearns was set to miss the rest of the season with Aston Villa and the beginning of the next campaign. Now, she and Walsh are prioritizing recovery and mutual support amid their sorrow.
Aston Villa Women extended their condolences in a social media post, offering their love and solidarity: ‘We are sending all our love and support to Missy Bo and Liam at this difficult time.’
Luton Town also voiced their empathy, stating: ‘We send all our love and support to Liam, Missy Bo, and their families at this deeply sad time.’
Kearns, who made her England debut last year, has played three matches for the Lionesses. She was on the standby list for Euro 2025, though the tournament was eventually won by England.
