Iranian defence chief who issued sinister warning to Trump is killed in airstrike

Iranian Defence Chief Killed in Airstrike After Warnings to Trump

An Israeli airstrike claimed the life of Ali Larijani, the Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary, who had recently issued a sharp warning to Donald Trump, vowing to “eliminate” the U.S. in response to perceived threats.

The Defence Ministry of Iran confirmed the attack, which occurred late last night. The IDF stated they targeted Larijani, while a separate strike eliminated the head of the Basji paramilitary organization. This marks a significant blow to Iran’s leadership, as Larijani had been a key figure in the interim council responsible for selecting the next successor to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“The nation of Iran is not afraid of your empty threats. Even those bigger than you could not eliminate the Iranian nation. Watch yourselves, or you might be eliminated!”

The Basji forces, under the control of General Gholam Reza Soleimani, have been deployed to quell protests in the Islamic Republic. Soleimani’s death was reported on Monday, though Iran delayed confirming it. The Israeli military described the Basji as an integral part of the Iranian terror regime’s military structure, highlighting their role in violently suppressing demonstrations.

Meanwhile, Mojtaba Khamenei, the eldest son of the late Ayatollah, was named the new supreme leader. However, he was reportedly nearly killed in a U.S. airstrike and was secretly flown to Russia for emergency leg surgery. Despite U.S. claims of his death, Khamenei recently issued a fierce demand for retaliation, calling for vengeance against the American alliance.

Kuwaiti outlet Al-Jarida revealed that the new Ayatollah was rescued from a bunker strike that killed his family, including his wife, mother, father, and son. He was smuggled out of Iran aboard a Russian military plane for a top-secret operation at one of Vladimir Putin’s presidential palaces. Reports suggest injuries ranged from minor to severe, including potential leg loss or comatose state.

Iran’s leadership has asserted that the new Ayatollah is alive, contradicting U.S. reports that claimed he was killed. The country’s stance aligns with Trump’s earlier remarks, which hinted at the leader’s survival. The incident underscores ongoing tensions between Iran and its adversaries, with the outcome of the conflict still uncertain.
