Cambridgeshire Police responded to an attack in Riseholme, near the Ortongate Shopping Centre in Peterborough, shortly before 7 PM BST on Sunday. A 16-year-old boy was found stabbed and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Officers are still securing the area, where residents have left flowers as a tribute. Arrests and Charges Revealed
Two individuals, a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man from Peterborough, were detained on suspicion of murder. Additionally, two female students, aged 16 and 17, are in custody for allegedly aiding the perpetrator. The 16-year-old girl, also from March, faces charges related to possession of a sharp object. All suspects remain under police supervision.
“This tragic event has resulted in the loss of a young man’s life, and we are in regular communication with his family,” stated Det Ch Insp Richard Stott from the Beds, Cambs and Herts Major Crime Unit. “While the death will undoubtedly worry local residents, we believe the attack was targeted, and increased police activity will continue in the coming days.”

St John’s Church School temporarily closed its doors due to a “serious incident” nearby, sending an email to parents to keep them informed. The institution plans to provide updates on resuming operations. Meanwhile, the Ortongate Shopping Centre remains open, though its rear car park was closed on Monday.
