Rape Outside Church Involves Multiple Suspects
Surrey police confirmed that a young woman was sexually assaulted by multiple men near a church following her departure from a local nightclub. The victim, in her early twenties, reported being chased after leaving the Labyrinth Epsom venue and attacked between 02:00 BST and 04:00 on Saturday.
The incident is believed to have taken place outside the Epsom Methodist Church on Ashley Road. Authorities have not yet obtained full descriptions of the suspects but are conducting thorough inquiries to track them down.
Det Insp Aine Matthews emphasized the severity of the event, noting that the victim is receiving assistance from dedicated officers.
Matthews stated that the probe is still in its preliminary phase. Officers are diligently gathering information to build a clearer understanding of the perpetrators and will release updates promptly.
Witnesses or anyone with relevant details are encouraged to reach out to the police. Those who were in the vicinity between 2am and 4am, especially those who encountered the distressed woman, are being asked to provide statements.
