A minimum of four individuals were fatally shot during a shooting at a secondary school in southern Turkey, according to the local governor. The incident occurred at Ayser Calik Secondary School in Kahramanmaras, as reported by local media.
The attacker, who carried multiple weapons, is suspected to have taken five firearms and seven ammunition magazines from his father. The motive for the attack remains unclear, and an investigation has begun.
Details of the Shooting
Following the incident, Kahramanmaras Governor Mukerrem Unluer stated that at least 20 people were wounded, with several in critical condition. The first attack of the day left 16 injured at another high school in the same region before the perpetrator took his own life.
“The sound of gunfire was very intense,” said a reporter for Turkish broadcaster NTV.
Footage from the scene captured crowds of onlookers, some using mobile phones to film, and ambulances evacuating the area.
