Two Met PCs Charged Over Tragic Death of Pregnant Woman
A collision involving a pregnant woman and her unborn child has led to charges against two Metropolitan Police officers. The incident took place on the A20 road, near the Kidbrooke Park junction in Kidbrooke, on 17 October 2024. The unmarked police car was involved in the crash, resulting in the child’s death at the scene. The woman, who was 38, later succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
PC Chris Johnson faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving, while former PC Danny Tomkins is accused of dangerous driving. The charges were brought after an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct. Both officers are set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 28 May.
